The deceased was wearing only a T-shirt and a life jacket, and was in an advanced state of decomposition
Image Archive. SM.
The Maritime Rescue boat (Sasemar), the Salvamar Mimosa, has taken the body of a man found in the sea in a state of advanced decomposition into the port of San Pedro del Pinatar.
A fishing boat that was sailing on the border between Murcia and Alicante sighted the body seven miles from the coast at around 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and advised the Sasemar Valencia marine rescue services, but as the body was in Murcian waters, they in turn requested the Sasemar Cartagena marine services to recover the body and take it in to port, where it arrived at around 8 pm.
The man is reported to be approximately 1.75 meters tall, and was found face down wearing only a T-shirt and a life jacket.
A DNA test will be taken to try and identify the deceased.
