ARCHIVED - Firemen in San Javier called to voracious fire in vegetal waste recycling plant
4,000 meters of prunings went up in flames early on Monday morning
Firefighters were called out early on Monday morning to deal with a voracious fire consuming dried garden and pruning waste in a re-cycling centre located between El Mirador and Sucina within the San Javier municipality.
The callout came just after one o’clock in the morning and was attended by firemen from the regional pool and several patrols of the San Javier Local Police.
The fire had broken out in an area of around 4,000 square meters of pruning remains, which was burning vigorously.
Work to bring the blaze under control continued throughout the early hours of Monday morning.
Although there was significant material damage, no injuries were reported.
