ARCHIVED - Jet2 delays flight restart to July 15th
Flights to Alicante resume in July and to Corvera airport in August 2020
Originally Jet2 had planned to resume flights from 1st July but this has now been re-scheduled for 15th July and has cancelled any flights and holidays booked for the period between 1st and 14th July.
Nobody is under any illusions that the forthcoming summer is going to be very complicated for tourism and in spite of huge efforts to ensure that passenger safety is a priority when travelling on board an aircraft and that holidaymakers are protected once arriving at their chosen destination by as many measures as can be enforced at a local level, there is still understandably fear and concern about international travel this summer.
On its webpage the company is now showing flights for Corvera and Alicante airports as follows;
Corvera:
Leeds Bradford to Murcia during August
London Stansted to Murcia in August
Manchester to Murcia during August
London Stansted to Murcia in August
Manchester to Murcia during August
Flights from Birmingham to Murcia in Septembr
Alicante
During July: Edinburgh, Glasgow
During August from Belfast Intl, Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds Bradford, London Stansted, Manchester
During October: Newcastle to Alicante
The airline says in its press statement:
"The health and safety of our customers and colleagues is our absolute priority, and we are continuing to monitor the situation very closely.
Customers who were due to travel before July 15th do not need to contact us. We are continuing to proactively contact customers to discuss their options, one of which is rebooking their holiday to a later date. If a customer has a booking that is due to depart on or after July 15th, the booking is subject to our normal terms and conditions.
We are working closely with all relevant authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone enjoying our flights and holidays, and we will be introducing a range of safety measures on our aircraft and transfer vehicles. We are also working closely with airport, hotel and tourist board partners to ensure that appropriate health and safety measures are implemented. Further details will be announced in due course."
