Boleros, samba and rising stars of Spanish music at various venues in Cartagena
After the disruption of the Covid pandemic over the last couple of years the La Mar de Músicas international music festival returns to Cartagena in the early summer of 2022, with a series of 41 artists performing between July 15 and July 23 at various venues in the city. The featured nation at this year’s event is the Dominican Republic.
On Friday July 22, the penultimate day of the festival, the schedule is as follows:
13.00: filovento (Spain) is the creation of Kevin Magdalena Giménez, a music teacher from Murcia who uses his guitar to create a fusion of post-rock and folk music. Tickets for the concert at the Real Club de Regatas are on sale at 5 euros.
20.00: Daniel, me estás matando (Mexico) is a duo breathing new life into the Volero and they offer this free concert in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
21.30: Valeria Castro (Spain) is from the Canary Islands and has been widely acclaimed for the sensitivity of her voice and the beauty of her music. Tickets for her concert in the patio of the CIM building are priced at 15 euros.
23.00: Guitarricadelafuente is the stage name of Álvaro Lafuente, who with his guitar has generated great interest among the Spanish music press and has just brought out his debut album, La Cantera. He performs live at the Auditorio 'Paco Martín' in Parque Torres with tickets priced at 30 euros.
Midnight: Rita Indiana (Dominican Republic) combines merengue, samba and cumbia and has become an icon in her home country. Tickets for her concert at the Castillo Árabe are on sale at 12 euros.
