The Google Maps car is coming to Murcia: These are the dates and places it will be photographing

Are you ready to be caught on candid camera?

We probably all use Google Maps on a near daily basis, even without realising it. It’s an essential tool for millions of people around the world for finding addresses, getting directions and planning trips, and loads of other programmes use the Google Maps algorithm for their own services too.

But undoubtedly one of the most impressive (and fun) bits about Google Maps is Street View, where you can get a 360-degree view of the streets and cities to be able to virtually explore any place on the planet.

To get all those photos that overlap together to make up Google Maps Street View, Google uses a team of high-resolution cameras mounted on a special vehicle that roams around and captures detailed photographs of everywhere it drives, and this car is coming to the Region of Murcia very soon.

These Google cars are sent around to different areas on a near permanent basis in order to be able to update Street View with images that are as recent as possible to reflect new constructions, developments and changes to our roads.

Google has recently announced its upcoming itinerary through Spain, informing about the locations that will be visited by the Street View car over the next few months.

In the case of the Region of Murcia, residents can expect a visit from the Google car in several municipalities, including Murcia capital city, Mazarrón, Cartagena and Bullas.

As for the exact dates that the Google Maps Street View camera car will be in these Murcia municipalities, all that is known is that the image capture period will run until November 2024.
