The philosopher Paul Klee said that “Art does not reproduce the visible; it makes visible”, and never has this been clearer than with the ultra-realistic paintings of Lola López.

This Cartagena artist, whose work is being displayed in the Águilas Auditorium until the end of this month, shows the irony of solitude in the midst of visibility with her passionate and curious canvases.

Her works mainly show solitary women in a contemplative attitude, expressing an ambiguity that induces and demands the viewer to imagine or discover a context of their own in the piece and reflect on the inner feelings of the subject.
